Starting August 17th, the new rules of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) will alter the playing field for home buyers and sellers.
One of the most significant changes is listing agents will no longer be required to show commission fees on any MLS listing which means buyers agents can't easily steer their clients to lucrative commissions. Commission fees must be negotiated outside of MLS. Using the MLS to communicate offers of compensation will not be an option, but commission rates will continue to be negotiable.
